Brisbane company’s battery solutions are upwardly mobile

Prohelion continues to go from strength to strength after winning ‘Emerging Exporter of the Year’ at the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards 2021

With a mission to support global decarbonisation efforts, Prohelion’s mantra of ‘Energy Everywhere’ is proving popular around the world.

The company’s technologies allow the use of electrical energy in places it was not previously possible through storage, management, and monitoring solutions.

Prohelion provides an ecosystem of products, services and data centred around its Battery Management System (BMS) to enable the safe usage of Lithium-Ion batteries.

Increasing global demand for Prohelion’s innovative products was recognised at the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards 2021 – the company winning the ‘Emerging Exporter’ category.

The category recognises outstanding export achievement by a company, in any sector, which has been exporting goods or services for three years or less.

Impressive growth

Established in 2016, Prohelion’s growth has been impressive and sustained, and the company began exporting in 2020.

With support from Trade and Investment Queensland, the company now has customers in more than 10 international markets. These include the US, Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK.

Chief Executive Officer Anthony Prior believes the ‘Emerging Exporter’ award has supported Prohelion’s growth and is helping to open doors in further international markets.

‘Winning a Premier of Queensland’s Export Award has added to our credibility and has been a great boost for a small emerging exporter,’ he said.

‘A lot of business contacts we meet bring it up and it’s certainly aiding us in our discussions with possible export partners.

New markets

‘Since winning the award, we have grown our sales in the US, entered the Canadian, South African, and Puerto Rican markets, and are now looking to expand into Asia.

‘I would recommend to any Queensland companies with ambitions to grow exports that they work with the team at Trade and Investment Queensland – their expertise has been invaluable.’
