Mindful & Co Kids set for Christmas success with help from Oprah

Christmas has come early for Gold Coast startup Mindful & Co Kids after 2 of its products, which help introduce the concept of mindfulness to young children, were named on Oprah’s Favorite Things List 2021.

Founder and co-owner Jacqueline Yeats said Oprah’s endorsement of their ABC’s of Mindfulness Colouring Book and Affirmation Colouring Pencils has seen interest in her company’s products skyrocket.

‘I’m a single mum and a business owner, so to be recognized by Oprah Winfrey was a dream come true,’ Ms Yeats said.

‘Since the news broke, we’ve had an incredible influx of orders and we’ve secured quite a lot of new wholesalers – it’s been an incredible boost for our business.’

“Oprah’s Favorite Things” was an annual segment that appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show from the 1990s. Being included on the list is a big win for those businesses that are profiled. In the past, businesses appearing on the list have reported huge growth in sales following the exposure.

Mindful & Co Kids exports to 15 countries and has distribution deals across Canada, the Middle East and Scandinavia.

The company launched their US Shopify site the same day Oprah’s list was announced, and in the last 4 months they’ve secured 60 wholesalers in the US alone.

Mindful & Co Kids has now teamed up with Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) to expand their presence into Asia and North America in 2022.

‘TIQ has been amazing – they’re always available to chat to if we need help,’ Ms Yeats said.

‘With TIQ’s support, we’ve secured wholesalers in the Asia market and we’re now working with TIQ’s North America office to continue to expand our market presence there.’
