Ben has 15 years’ experience in management and coordination for international trade and logistics firms.
He has worked for traders, international freight forwarders and, more recently, with a number of global airlines. He has a working knowledge of many global markets, including the Middle East, Asia, Europe and North America.
Most recently Ben was an Account Executive in the cargo division of an international airline, where his responsibilities included all cargo contract negotiations and space agreements as well as maintaining and expanding relationships with strategically important clients.
A local resident, Ben understands both the challenges and strengths of the far north Queensland business environment. He is passionate about all the Far North has to offer the world, and about using global networks and resources to help local small to medium enterprises grow into export markets and secure investment opportunities.

Ryan Beers
Principal Trade and Investment Officer, Cairns
Ryan has over 20 years’ experience facilitating business between Australia, China and Southeast Asia. He has divided his time between Australia and China, and now calls Cairns home.
In China, Ryan commenced his career working at the Australian Embassy in Beijing, before transitioning to work as a commercial lawyer in Australia for several years. Returning to China, he managed the Shenzhen office of a Chinese/US law firm, and then the Guangzhou office of a NYSE-listed risk consulting company.
Ryan returned to Australia in 2014 and most recently worked as an investment account manager in the business migration team of the South Australian state government. He was responsible for connecting local food and wine producers with overseas buyers, as well as introducing and account-managing foreign investment into local projects.
