Taste of Queensland
Taste of Queensland is our week-long signature food and agriculture trade initiative.
This program connects international buyers, importers and distributors with Queensland's premium food, beverage, and agribusiness exporters.
It’s a highly successful inbound and outbound trade mission program.
Buyer and exporter business matching and site visits
At the heart of Taste of Queensland is the biennial Taste of Queensland Showcase where international buyers visit Queensland growers, producers and suppliers.
During the networking activities, buyers, build relationships, participate in business matching meetings and sample delicious products.
Buyers also visit exporters’ site operations enjoying exclusive behind-the-scenes tours, gaining insights into their production methods and techniques.
Taste of Queensland connects Queensland with the world and the world to Queensland.
A look back at Taste of Queensland 2024
Taste of Queensland 2024 championed the best of Queensland to senior buyers from 19 markets worldwide, connecting them with over 160 local businesses which featured in the Taste of Queensland 2024 Food and Beverage Directory.
As the largest domestic export showcase we’ve delivered, the program began with a welcome event at the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). This was followed by a full-day product showcase and formal reception at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
Throughout the week, buyers explored regional Queensland's diverse food and beverage industries including:
- seafood in Cairns and the Sunshine Coast
- craft distilleries in Cairns
- fresh produce in Bundaberg
- beef in Dalby and Toowoomba
- packaged food, beverages and wellness brands on the Gold Coast.

Past events
2023
In August, Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) hosted a five-day intensive inbound beef buying mission involving 22 international beef buyers from China, Hong Kong, Japan and Vietnam. This mission created connections and meaningful engagement between these buyers and Queensland beef producers, and included a series of presentations, site visits, and events across Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Darling Downs and Toowoomba.
TIQ hosted a Taste of Tropical Queensland Showcase in Cairns in May. The event attracted 500 attendees, including 80 buyers, 32 exporters, government officials and industry leaders. To date, the event has generated $978,000 in export outcomes.
2022
In November 2022, TIQ hosted a Taste of Queensland Showcase across various locations including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba. This four-day event attracted over 70 international buyers, resulting in a significant $10.4 million in export outcomes.
2019
Back in October 2019, the inaugural Taste of Queensland Showcase brought together more than 30 international buyers. This event generated 13 export outcomes worth $6.48 million for Queensland's food and beverage businesses.
