Queensland is already home to two world-class studio complexes – Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast and Screen Queensland Studios in Brisbane. Both studios are in close proximity to major transport networks, including international and domestic airports. Planning is currently underway for a further studio facility in Cairns, in Far North Queensland.

Queensland has a range of land options for production facilities near major cities. When compared to other locations on the east coast of Australia, land near to Brisbane and the Gold Coast is competitively priced and offers easy access to renowned entertainment precincts and an existing local crew base.

Queensland offers an exciting blend of cosmopolitan city living and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. A warm subtropical environment, safe multicultural communities, a strong and stable economy, internationally renowned schools and universities, and focus on outdoor living makes Queensland a fantastic place for cast and crew to live. With the population growing faster than every other state in Australia and capital city Brisbane set to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Queensland has entered an exciting decade of growth and opportunity.

Queensland’s strong track record of big-budget international productions, as well as high-end local productions means it is home to one of Australia’s most skilled and experienced local crew bases. More than 1,800 skilled crew are located in the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions alone.

" Queensland really is world-class on every level of where you would want to make a film… It has the availability of equipment, the crew base, the talent, and the weather which is amazing. There can’t be a better place to make a film. "
