Queensland is forging an international reputation for leading health and wellness products with global buyers and distributors ramping up demand.
The sunshine state’s exceptional fresh produce means Queensland’s processed food companies can produce everything from exotically flavoured beverages to health promoting food and naturally nutritious snacks.
Queensland’s health and wellness producers are renowned for excellence in functional food and beverage, nutraceutical, contract manufacturing, and sports nutrition sectors.
Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) support these companies to reach international markets through a range of initiatives and have noticed a marked increase in their popularity.
Companies such as Brisbane-based Flavour Creations who have developed scientifically backed ‘disruptive innovations’ in snack foods. Their product, SCREAMIES, is a non-melting ice-Scream shelf stable snack - an alternative to traditional temperature sensitive ice-cream.
Gold Coast-based company Sprout Organic, a children’s nutrition company which creates organic, plant-based infant formula, and healthy plant-based snacks for kids, disrupting a 120-year-old industry that has seen little to no innovation.
Also from the Gold Coast, BSc ®, a leading Australian sports nutrition business, developing quality products for everyday physical and mental performance.
One of TIQ’s most successful initiatives includes buyer trade missions – appropriately called, Taste of Queensland.
The Taste of Queensland program brings international buyers to Queensland, guiding them through the state’s regions in a series of tasting events, business matching and site tours.
The program also takes the Taste of Queensland to numerous international markets, markedly growing the popularity of our homegrown products.
Justin McGowan, TIQ CEO said that Queensland health and wellness producers have established a reputation for innovation and excellence internationally.
“These businesses are dedicated to producing only the best using local flavours and ingredients and subsequently have built valuable confidence with international buyers,” he said.
“Producers and manufacturers in our state stay on top of market trends, often incorporating cutting edge production and processing facilities to maintain high quality and world-class safety standards.
“The unique variety and exceptional range of Queensland health and wellness products featured in this Directory is a testament to the initiative and commitment in our great state.”
