It’s a sweet export deal for Huds and Toke
This Sunshine Coast based exporter of all-natural treats for dogs, cats, horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, even chickens, has found the sweet spot of exporting success partnering with a global brand.
Huds and Toke create a range of healthy pet treats and with the support of Trade and Investment Queensland’s Go Global Export Program their products are now available in Japan, Germany and Singapore.
It was early 2022 and another of TIQ’s funding initiatives - the New Market Program grant - kickstarted the company’s expansion to the US, and the securing of a delicious deal with Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
Huds and Toke and Krispy Kreme launched their Krispy Kreme-inspired doggy doughnut campaign on International Dog Day, held annually on August 26.
Queensland healthy doggy doughnuts are packed into co-branded packaging, exported and sold in Krispy Kreme outlets across the United States.
Huds and Toke’s Joint CEO and Strategic Operations Officer, Russell Gibbons, said TIQ’s grant assistance had helped their expansion into the USA and assisted to bring the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts agreement to fruition.
“The support from TIQ has been outstanding and from early on TIQ helped us on our exporting journey,” he said.
“The grant funding has been enormously helpful, assisting us with IP protection, packaging and labelling, freight and logistic solutions, to name a few.
“We are truly appreciative of the continuous support we have received from TIQ.”
Husband and wife owners, Russell and Emma Gibbons, have built a proudly all-female team and built a sustainably conscious manufacturing facility which operates entirely on solar energy in Coolum.
TIQ’s Go Global Export Program is designed to remove export barriers and support entrepreneurial companies just like Huds and Toke.
